Bend & Central Oregon
Medical Billing & Credentialing In Bend, Oregon
Behavioral health and outpatient practices across Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson counties use us for the business side: payer enrollment, contracting, claims and the daily operations behind them. Prices are fixed, the scope’s published, and you don’t need a sales call to start.
The Local Payer Picture
Central Oregon Is Not The Same Payer Market As Portland
Practices that move over the Cascades usually discover this in their first month of billing. The commercial mix here leans differently, the Oregon Health Plan runs through a different organization, and one health system dominates the referral pattern.
Commercial Plans
PacificSource has a deep footprint in Central Oregon, alongside Moda, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, and Providence Health Plan. You’ll see Aetna and Evernorth Behavioral Health (Cigna) in employer plans, and Optum Behavioral Health (UnitedHealthcare) is common on national employer coverage. Kaiser Permanente is a separate arrangement and is quoted separately.
Oregon Health Plan
OHP coverage in Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson counties is administered through PacificSource Community Solutions, the coordinated care organization for the Central Oregon service area. Medicaid enrollment is $450 per provider, and you can buy it on its own or with a commercial package.
Referral Gravity
St. Charles Health System anchors the region, which shapes who your referrers are and which panels produce volume. Choosing panels by market share rather than alphabetically is the difference between a full schedule and an empty one.
Two Panels You Can Run At Once Here
Providence lists its behavioral health network as open in every Oregon county except Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas, and Psychiatrist/PMHNP is on its list. Moda lists psychiatrists, psychologists and mental health nurse practitioners as open in every Oregon county. So a Bend psych NP can apply to Moda and Providence at the same time, which a Portland psych NP can’t do right now.
These panel and CCO facts come from Providence Health Plan’s behavioral health network page, Moda Health’s Oregon open panels and the Oregon Health Authority’s CCO service areas. We last reviewed this page on October 4, 2026.
What We Handle
The Work A Bend Practice Usually Needs First
Getting On The Panels
You pick the commercial payer contracts the practice needs, at $700 per payer, per provider, for payers one through five, and we follow up on the record until each one returns a decision and a written effective date. We follow up with each payer at least every 10 business days. If a payer says no or its panel is closed, you get that answer in writing and that payer is complete. Commercial payer review runs 60 to 120 days. The payer sets that clock, not us.
Opening A Practice Here
The paid-in-full option has a 90-day Launch period; the monthly option stages the work across six months. The included work covers: Business setup and identifier coordination, five commercial panels, portals, EFT and ERA, picking and setting up the EHR, and the scheduling and billing configuration underneath it.
Fixing Revenue That Is Leaking
Most denials start upstream of the claim. Coverage wasn’t checked, a payment posted to the wrong line, or an aging balance sat because nobody owned it. We trace each one back to where it started, fix it there and leave you with a process your team can run. Ongoing Billing keeps it running, priced by practice size, and unpaid claims older than 90 days go to Billing Cleanup And A/R Recovery at 20% of what we collect.
Questions We Get From Central Oregon
Bend Medical Billing And Credentialing Questions
Do You Work With Practices Outside Bend Itself?
Yes. Redmond, Sisters, La Pine, Prineville, Madras and the towns around them are the same payer market and the same work. We’re based in Portland and support practices nationwide.
Do You Work With Physicians Too, Or Only Behavioral Health?
Both. We handle credentialing and contracting, medical billing and operations for physicians and outpatient practices here, as well as psychiatry, PMHNP and therapy practices.
Which Panel Should A New Central Oregon Practice Open First?
There’s no universal ranking. It depends on your referral sources and your patient mix, and PacificSource carries real weight here in a way it doesn’t everywhere in the state. We’ll help you pick the five that will fill your schedule.
Is Oregon Health Plan Enrollment Included?
No. Medicaid and Medicare are never bundled into a commercial package. Either can be added as a named $450 enrollment per provider on top of a commercial package.
Do I Need To Be In Bend To Work With You?
No. Everything runs remotely and on the record, through scheduled working sessions and written updates from the expert leading your work. Being based in Oregon means we already know these payers, not that we need to be in your office.
Elsewhere In Oregon
We Work Across The State
Same team, same fixed prices. The payer mix is what changes.
What Would Fixing It Cost?
Ongoing Billing, Automation Programs and the Operations Partnership each have a published price and a written scope. Tell us what keeps going wrong, and we’ll point you to the right one.
