Physician Credentialing

Dermatology Credentialing Services

Dermatology mixes medical evaluation, procedures, pathology relationships, and cash-pay cosmetic work. Credentialing should reflect the medical practice accurately without blurring services payers do not cover.

Before Payer Work Begins

What Must Be Accurate Before Payer Work Begins

Before we file, we check these records against each other:

  • Medical and cosmetic service lines described accurately
  • Specialty, taxonomy, procedure, and location records aligned
  • Group and provider enrollments tied to the correct billing entity
  • Insurance portals and payment enrollment ready for medical claims

The provider completes and legally attests their own DataSpring provider profile (formerly CAQH) and signs payer-required documents. If you’d rather we update your profile for you, you can choose to share your sign-in through secure onboarding and change the password when we’re done. We coordinate the business-side records, applications, follow-up, portals, and documented status included in the selected package.

Dermatology Specifics

Why Dermatology Credentialing Works Differently

Most of the payer work is the same as any physician practice. What changes is how the practice describes itself and who bills for what.

  • Medical and cosmetic services kept apart, so payers see the medical practice they are contracting with
  • A CLIA certificate in place for any lab work done in the office, like KOH preps or in house dermatopathology
  • Each PA and nurse practitioner enrolled on their own, since many dermatology visits are seen by them
  • Every location, including satellite clinics, listed the same way with every payer

We’ve worked with psychiatrists, PMHNPs, therapists, physiatry groups, outpatient rehab practices and multi site dental groups. The business side works the same way in every one of them: medical billing, credentialing and contracting, practice launch, operations and automation. A Defined Package Does Not Require A Sales Call

  1. Choose the sentence that matches the provider today.
  2. Review eligibility, scope, exclusions, add-ons, and the complete total.
  3. Pay securely, then complete your onboarding packet and upload your documents.
  4. Work starts within three business days after onboarding is complete, and we tell you the day it starts.
  5. Follow documented status while payer decisions and timelines remain outside our control.

FAQ

Dermatology Credentialing Services FAQ

Which Package Fits?

If your practice is changing its Tax ID, ask us for a written quote. Use New Provider Credentialing & Contracting for a first-time provider joining a clinic that already has the selected payer contracts.

How Is Government Enrollment Priced?

Medicare, Medicaid, and each separately administered Medicaid managed-care enrollment path is $450 per provider. A government-only order does not require a commercial payer selection.

Do You Guarantee Payer Approval Or An Effective Date?

No. We manage in-scope preparation and follow-up; each payer controls its own participation decision and timeline.

Do PAs And Nurse Practitioners Need Their Own Credentialing?

Yes. Each one needs their own enrollment with each payer before their visits can be billed under their own name. Medicare’s incident to rules decide when a visit can be billed under the supervising physician instead, and those rules are narrow.

Do You Credential For Cosmetic Services?

No. Payers don’t cover cosmetic work, so it stays out of the payer file. We make sure the medical side of the practice is described accurately.

Opening a practice, adding a provider, moving existing payer relationships, and seeking new contracts require different work. See the price and scope that match your situation.
